Weeks before the date you want this work finished.

Realistic weekly hours across everyone doing the work.

How this is worked out

Outstanding tools = units × (100 − validated%). Outstanding files = trainers × (100 − current%). Outstanding policies = policies × (100 − reviewed%). Each is multiplied by its hours, then summed. Capacity = weeks available × hours per week.

What it assumes

  • Every outstanding item takes about the same time as the average you entered.
  • The percentages you entered reflect a real check against your registers, not an impression.
  • The hours you can give this are available every week, not concentrated at the end.

What it does NOT account for

  • This is a workload estimate only. It does not evaluate the quality of any evidence and makes no judgement about your obligations under the Standards.
  • Does not include rectification arising from a regulator's findings.
  • Does not include writing new assessment tools, only validating existing ones.
  • Does not model third-party or partnering arrangements.

What to do next

  • Check the percentages against your actual registers rather than memory: this estimate is only as good as those three numbers.
  • If the estimate exceeds your capacity, decide now what gets prioritised and record that decision.
  • Book validation sessions in advance; they are the hardest part to schedule.
  • Have a qualified person review the outcome. This tool estimates effort, it does not evaluate evidence.
